Summer where are you??

After a fun trip and being in 80 degree weather we come home to clouds and rain:( blah! its June for goodness sake! It sorta makes it harder to be home from vacation when its yucky here... I want to go back!!!!!

Look at this glorious sunshine.... I tried to bring it back with me, didn't work out so well....

I guess this weekend is supposed to be hot but they also said today was going to be sunny, is there sun?? noooooooooo!!!! Yes I'm complaining. I'm ready for summer! I'm ready for swimming, camping, BBQ's, picnic's, and here's the big one.... drum roll please.... THE SUN!!!!!! :)

I think I'm a little bored right now. Subject change!

How about I tell you about my day, yes I will tell you about a day and the life of Cassie:)

Today I took my car to a car wash on steroids... they wash, vacuum or shampoo, wax, clean the inside, clean the tries etc... Make it look new basically and I think I'm obsessed! Now I don't have to do it! I sit and wait while they do all the hard work. Hee hee! If you have one near you, you should try it. Sooooooooo worth it. And the best part, they spray your car with smelly stuff (of your choice), I picked pina colada. Smells so good. I wish I had a scratch and sniff over the computer but I will leave it to your imagination:)

After that I went to work out with Mike at the military department. They have a pretty good gym and one of his co-workers started a circuit training routine that he's been doing with a few people. He been wanting me to come do it with him. So I did. Today was arms. I don't do arms, or at least what they were doing. Blah! I have to be honest. I SO did not want to do it! So I went on the elliptical for the first round of exercises. I joined for the second half. My arms suck. Each station was was mostly some type of push up, are you kidding me?!?! I can't even do one! haha! I tried anyways. I did 4 of each type that's about all I could squeeze out of these sad little arms:) I will do legs, abs anything else!!! Just not arms... no sir... no bueno! Anyhow~ I survived that. We had a nice little lunch together at baja fresh. Back to work for Mike!

It was a good day dispite the lack of sun and the arm work out or it should be called the workout from hell. Hee hee! Tonight I will be dropping the kids off with their dad then off to the mall to hit Bath and Body works semi annual sale, that makes every thing better:) BIG GRIN on my face:) :) :) :)

Tomorrow yard work and then later on in the evening a movie with friends! We tried to barge in on one of our most favorite friends and their pool but I'm think 'en its not going to work. they have a busy weekend, Maybe next weekend;) hint hint!

"Red woods"

We took a road trip to Cali with some close friends of ours. We told the kids we were going to the "redwoods" with the intention all along to go to Disney land. It was a huge surprise!

My mothers day weekend

Saturday the family treated me to frozen yogurt at the mall. One of my favorite frozen sugary evil indulgences. We sat and people watched while we ate. It was pretty entertaining! After that we headed to Portland's 23rd street. Its a fun little street with all kinds of shops and restaurants and of course my favorite little chocolate shop Moonstruck chocolates:) I had to get a couple of truffles!

We then went to the Rose gardens, no roses but it was still very pretty. It really couldn't have been more of a perfect day really. The sun was out, it was warm the skies were so clear.

I love spending time with my family. It was a really good weekend for me.

Thanks hubby for making that happen! I love you:)

On Sunday before church I woke up to a yummy breakfast, lots of love from my kiddo's and then this.....

Pretty isn't it? I love, love, love Plumeria flowers! I'm a bit obsessed with Hawaii and Hawaii flowers and anything tropical... maybe because its in my blood?! Not Hawaii but ya know tropics... Filipino... same difference! I felt very spoiled this Mothers day and still feel very spoiled and blessed to have such a wonderful family:)

Horses!

Boy it takes me so long to update this!!! I really do enjoy writing and posting pictures but to be honest I seriously forget about it! How sad is that?!? Anyhow Here I am updating from about 3 weeks ago... so about 3 week ago I had to go to Costco for my eye exam I had plans with cailie to hang out. We ended up going horse back riding. She has a beautiful horse that she keeps up at this property in Wilsonville. The people that own it gave her permission to use one of the other horses... so I got to tag along with her.

I had a blast! We rode on some fun trails in the woods in a small creek and in a field. It took me a little awhile to get used to riding again since it has been since high school that I was last on a horse!

Death cab for cutie

I'm having one of my mushy moments right now, when I think of when Mike and I starting to date. I like to remember the excitement of a new relationship. Staying up at all hours talking, having your "song" or in our case it was an entire CD! Death cab for cutie... Occasionally I will hear some of "our" songs on the radio and it will bring back all the fun memories. We had the CD at one point but its all scratched up now:( I couldn't ask for anything better in a man. I am so very blessed to have him in my life. We will be married for 5 years this July and as exciting as a new relationship is I love what the years of being together brings. Getting to experience life with your best friend is so much fun. The ups and downs only bring you closer together.

What?!?! is it 4am??

Well, here I am at work pulling the all night shift once again. I have been working the Sunday night and Monday night shifts for the last 3 weeks. Its good for the extra " suprise trip" money but SO SO brutal when 4 am hits! I usually have alot of work to do so I keep busy and its easy for the time to pass but this week and last its been real S-L-O-W. I have to find things to do, like update my blog. Sorry folks no pictures though, I'm on my work computer.

I finally got contacts last week, its amazing that I can see and not have these bulky things stuck to my face! Not sure what took me so long to figure that out:) I'm working my way to the surgery right now, I'm pretty freaked out by it. Maybe in a year or two. We will see. After my contacts met friend Cailie to hang out and ended up horse back riding. It was a ton of fun. I haven't been since high school. It took me about half way though to get re- acquainted with it again. I must say I was a bit intimidated at first. It had been long enough that I forgot most everything! The horse kept wanting to wander off, I finally got irraited enough to forget that I was intimidated. After that I was fine. That was pretty much the high light of my week, haha!
That weekend was a Jr high event, we went glow in the dark golfing! it was pretty fun! Before the evening with the Jr highers Mike and I hung out with Christian and Julie. We had fine dining at Wendy's. I had this craving for french fries and frosty. Mmmmm! we then went to the out let mall, where I splurged in Coach. Oops! and then off to goodwill where the guys coned us girls into wearing these hideous "golf" sweaters... our were really just old lady sweaters that smelled, well like old lady! We wore them and the kids thought it was funny, I did however take mine off half way though. I couldn't take it!
I love to hang out with the kiddos, they bless me in so many ways. Funny how I didn't want to be there in the first place. Now I totally love it.
Sunday came and went and now here I am typing away at work trying to catch up on my blog!

Has it really been that long since I last blogged? I guess my goal of posting something every day didn't work:( oh well... I am crazy busy!

So the latest is we went on the Jr high spring break trip with our church. It was way fun! I love those kids, it still has its challenges but Im growing and really liking it:) The kids get to come on some of the trips too, and they love it! Anthony feels privlidged because he's with the big kids! and of course the jr high kids accept him in as their own. The gilrs love to dote on Aaliayh, they carry her around and play with her. She loves the attention, Im pretty sure she feels like a princess:) So it works out really good.

Dirty little germs...

How long can a cold possibly hang on? especially when I have been loading up on every vitamin available that builds up your immune system. I have had a cold for the last 2 weeks, it went away for 2 days and then reappeared! Here I am sitting on the couch once again not being able to breath.... Grrrr! On top of all this, this is the week of craziness. No time for rest. So hopefully my body can keep up. Being sick always has a way of showing up at the wrong time though.

I am doing the flowers for a friends wedding this weekend so most of my week has been getting ready for it, on top of soccer games and practices, Dr. appts and of course house chores:) Thursday is the rehearsal dinner, which I have to attend because my hubby is in the wedding. I'm sure I will be doing some stuff with the flowers that night too though. One of my close long time friend Michelle is the photographer. You should check out her web site and blog, she's really good! She will probably take some pictures of my flowers which I will post after this weekend!

These are some photos of the last wedding I did. Long story short but I did these for another friend of mine. Flowers were expensive for her so she asked me to do it. I had no clue or any experience but was able to some how manage to make it look good! Hopefully I can do the same for this other wedding!

Spring

Its safe to say I have spring fever now. All this wonderful weather has me wanting to bust out with the flip flops and shorts. I love the flowers in bloom, birds singing the smell of fresh cut grass. I love it!!!

Mar 5th

Today is mikes birthday and we are both in sad shape:( He managed to sprain his ankle pretty bad and I am sick... ugggg! Tonight we are going to celebrate with dinner and a movie with friends. Im looking forward to it since Iv been on the couch all day long. Im feeling better though. I picture my little white blood cells with little armor fighting those big bad germs! haha! In my Rainbow world no one would get sick, there would be no spiders and every thing would be fluffy and soft!

I got mike a "big boy" remote control car he's been wanting. We went with some friends last weekend to the hobby shop to browse. Before we left I told mike that he could pick out one for his birthday. It was fun to see him light up like a fat kid in a candy store! Dave, Elrike's husband has been the one who intrduced Mike into this world of toys. Since then we have had a "play date" already, Im sure this is one of many to come:) Its a win, win situation though. The guys play with their trucks and us girls get to hang out! Of course they find new toys they want and accessories. Elrike and I keep tab, "sure you can buy that" we will say. Hoping that we can spend that same amount at a certian Jewlery shop at the mall.... :) or maybe just pedicures... cant blame me for trying, right? Anyhow, He loves it and he works hard so a toy is fine with me!

Yesterday I had a full day, running errands and getting some things done. Half way through I get a phone call from the school. Aaliyah has head lice!!!! What?!?! I know this might be bad and totally un-motherly but I was instantly annoyed and grossed out. I didn't want to touch her head, let alone pick though her hair. I had to leave what I was doing and pick her up form school. I spent the rest of my day washing everything and picking through Aaliyah's hair like a monkey.

Lucky me Anthony had it too, but He only had 1 bug and 3 little eggs. So what did I do? I shaved his head!!! Why cant girls be that easy? Can you hear my frustration with all this?

I'm a clean freak so this really made me turn into a bug-a-Phoebe. Needless to say my house is spotless and I'm pretty sure the survival of those little demons are slim to none. I even treated the cats, I don't know if cats can get lice but I didn't want to find out!

I think today we are bug free, if not then they will surly die soon!

Enough talk of lice. I'm starting to Itch now. Anthony had soccer practice yesterday. He started that on Monday. He's so excited. I think that boys breathes soccer. He loves it and is really quite good at it too. I'm excited to see him progress through the years, I think if he sticks with it he could go far. I'm not a crazy soccer mom, you wont see me yelling at him at his games but I fully support his love for the game. Now I need to find something Aaliyah likes to do. She is such an awkward kid. I think we will just have to try some different things and see what works.

Anyhow, I really need to get off this computer. I have so much to do today. We are having a Jr high overnight event and I need to get ready for it. I'm making a bunch of yummy goodies! Being leaders in our Jr high youth group has kept us pretty busy. I have to admit, I wanted nothing to do with it when I first started but I love it now.

Yay for no more bugs!

New kitty!

A close friend of mine ( Elrike )had to get rid of her kitty. I have always liked this cat, her personality is so unique. So of course I tried to convince Mike to adopt her. He made me believe he wanted nothing to do with her when all along he was plotting with Elrike to surprise me with the cat on valentines day! Her name is Percy:)

Newport Feb 18th-21st

Mike had a work conference he had to work/attend this weekend. Spouses were invited to come and all was paid for by the army! Whoo Hoo! a free trip to the beach.... yessssss! The down side was that Mike was pretty busy and we both had meetings we had to go to. But still all expenses paid including food!?! so worth it!

We got to Newport Thursday around lunch time. Mike had a couple of things to do to get ready for the conference and then we had free time time till people started to arrive. The weather was WONDERFUL! it was warm and there was no wind... which all Oregonians know that is a rare treat. So we went for a long walk on the beach.

Friday, Mike was gone for most of the day in and out of meetings and working. I had one meeting in the afternoon which I thought was pretty boring but I did learn a couple of things about the army family programs I didn't know before. The National Guard has so many programs and benefits for families. A huge plus for us! I think that its safe to say that anything I possibly need they have it available for very little cost or even free. I know so many people have had negative experiences and its sad to see the bad attitudes that people have towards it. It has its downs but you deal it. That's life anyways right? I really do love it, I am proud to be an army wife. The kids love the army too, everything about it is exciting to them.

After Friday I must say I have a new appreciation for what mike does. His new position that is. Iv always know what he does but never seen him in action. His boss keeps him on his toes. Lets just say his boss made me stressed out just watching him. Long story short but Mikes boss is a very particular type of person and even if a table is just an inch out of place from where he wants it he will notice and want it fixed, pronto. So mike was pretty MIA all day Friday. We had a nice dinner banquet thing that night and then spent a good 2 hours at the pool and hot tub.

Saturday, Mike was gone most of the day again. I had no meetings so I showered and headed out to the outlet mall in Lincoln City! I scored big time there! Big sales every where! Sweeeeet! After that I headed back to the hotel. I watched a movie, Radio, which by the way is a fantastic movie! and then went out onto the beach again to enjoy the warm sun and spend some time with God. Mike was done around 3ish, we went for another long walk on the beach. Went to dinner at Moe's, Mmmmm! my Favorite! and then we stayed in for the evening watching TV.

Sunday, we packed up and did some shopping before we left for home! All in all it was a good weekend and the weather was the icing on the cake! I'm loving this sun shine. I think its safe to say that I have spring fever now:)

Dec 22nd ~ Jr high christmas party!

We have been leaders in the Jr high, we started just after summer. Its been a huge learning experience but fun also. We had a fun Christmas party. Egg Nog drinking contest, ugliest sweater contest, lots of candy and zoo lights! Here are some pictures...
