Adventures on the Mt.

Mike took me snowboarding on Saturday. It was so much fun! My real first time up. The "other" first time up didn't work out so well as the snow lifts were closed due to a power outage:( We still managed to go to Timberline, determined to find a lifts that were open and they did have a bunny lift open for an hr for free! I went down the little hill ( well, sort of...) only once. I was mostly on my behind the way down. That was my first experience.
In the mean time we were trying to make it up to try the experience again but conflicting schedules would not allow it BUT we did manage to find some amazing deals and I got my very own snowboard! So now I really had to go up. I had to use my new snowboard!

*I am missing my camera so these pictures were taken with my phone. (I have yet to figure out how to place the pictures where I want them on this blog thingy, they might be in strange places. Bear with me, please! I'm figuring it out. )

Okay so back to the story... Mike took me up to Meadows this last Saturday. I LOVED it! and a good thing to other wise all that money we spent on a snowboard would have been waisted. It was a gamble but I had a hunch that I would like it so we took the plunge and bought one. I'm glad that we did too. Thanks hubby!
I went down the Mt the first time pretty much falling down and hardly being able to push  myself back up. It was quite humorous now that I look back. I probably looked quite funny. Not to mention the ski lift, that was fun trying to get off of a moving chair with a board stuck to one foot. Walking with it too was quite interesting!  it was  very awkward. I figured it out though.
My second time down I fell one 3 times! hooray! Then my 3rd time down.... success! Didn't fall once! I'm a pro now, ( hee hee) or so I would like to think. I went down a few more times before mike talked me into going up the bigger hill/Mt?!? what ever you want to call it. Either way it was bigger then the bunny hill- daisy now I'm on to buttercup....Oooooooo!  I did okay. I fell because I made myself 1. because the "good" snowboarders would fly down past me, made me so nervous! 2. because I was getting so sore! my legs were HATING me at that point. But Alas I did it. I was done though. Time to go home. I was tired and hungry.
I did what I wanted to accomplish and now its time to practice to get better. I want to venture up past buttercup! Mike was a great teacher and very patient with me. Anyone who wants to learn? go to him. I know he wanted to go and fly down the Mt side but he stayed with me. Very sweet. Hes been snowboarding for a long time now. He pretty good in my opinion. So I'm determined to catch up to him so we can have a fun out door hobby together:)
